Overall, the best resort of the five I stayed at in Bali, by an enormous margin. I’m not going to give them less stars for a menu design I didn’t like, but I would suggest to the restaurant that they do simplify that menu so those who can’t speak the language can order easier (and know what they’re getting). To pick a meal properly was going to require thirty minutes of study. My issue is that the menu was entirely in transliterated Indonesian with a glossary of terms. The issue is not the food quality, it was (I am confident) cooked perfectly to traditional standards. The only detracting point I have, and I recognise this was my fault, is I ordered the enormous share plate of traditional Indonesian food.
The staff in general spoke excellent English (many are westerners), and although the locals all speak English to some degree, communication in general was easier here. However, if you’re looking to relax, eat, be pampered and chill out by the pools or beach, this is literally one of the best the island has to offer. The only thing about this resort that may not be suited to your tastes is that it is a solid 20 minutes to go elsewhere, and if you’re in Bali to explore, it may not be for you. Nothing really wow us except the Satan chilli because we like spicy. Dining at Warung and Cire were quite average, had our breakfast and dinner for 4 days here. The architecture design is no doubt an award winning one. We put on insect repellent at all times by still got a few mosquito bites. The room also has a smart TV so we can netflix at night using my handphone. Our one bedroom villa was huge and had partial ocean view. We quickly called up the receptionist and they managed to get us another room by 7pm. The raison d’etre for Menupedia is simple: to translate and explain those curious sounding dishes on the restaurant menu or at the food markets around the world, so that the next time we go out for food we will be more knowledgeable about the variety on offer, and perhaps even impress our family and friends with our new found culinary expertise. This resort is almost 10 years old if im not wrong so there were a few wear and tear, and things not functioning well in our first room e.g. There's a tablet in the room which can be used to order food, etc. Our butler brought us to our room using buggy and gave us a quick tour in our room.
